Abstract: Alcohol harmful drinking impacted both physical and mental health. As we have known, drinking behavior start from low risk to risk, harmful and finally, without therapy it could be an alcohol dependence. So that persons with harmful drinking needed a proper management. Self-efficacy Enhancement for Alcohol Drinking Refusal Program was the one that could help persons with harmful drinking to decline or stop drinking behavior. This operational study aimed to test the effectiveness of the Self-efficacy Enhancement for Alcohol Drinking Refusal Program among persons with harmful drinking, Ban Pongtum Tambon Health Promoting Hospital, Chiang Mai Province. There were two groups of subjects: 1) 12 persons with harmful drinking and 2) 5 health professional members. The instruments were 1) the Self-efficacy Enhancement for Alcohol Drinking Refusal Program 2) Demographic Data Form 3) the Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Test 4) the Satisfaction Questionnaire for Health Professional and 5) the Satisfaction Questionnaire for Persons with Harmful Drinking. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics.   The results of this study revealed: 1. Alcohol drinking behavior of all subject decreased immediately after implementing the program, 83.33 percent of them could stop drinking, and after 4 weeks follow up we found that 75 percent still stop drinking, remaining subject were low risk(8.33 percent) and risk drinking levels (16.67 percent), respectively. 2. Satisfaction of health professional who implemented the program, regarding appropriate to use in service (80 percent) and conducting the program (60 percent) were at the highest level, and 60 percent of them had high level of satisfaction according to convenient for using in routine practice together with data. 3. Satisfaction of persons with harmful drinking who need the program were at the highest level, regarding nurses who implement the program (100 percent) and all activities or in each session of the program (91.67 percent). The results of this study indicated that the Self-efficacy Enhancement for Drinking Refusal Program was efficiency, it could reduce alcohol drinking behavior, so that this program should be conducted for the persons with harmful drinking.
