Abstract: This study aimed to 1) investigate the problems in implementing the traffic and transportation management policies of the police Traffic Division, Chiang Mai Province, 2) evaluate the implementation of the traffic and transportation management policies of the police Traffic Division, Chiang Mai Province, and 3) evaluate the solving of the traffic and transportation management problems of the Traffic Division, Chiang Mai Province juristic. 405 samples were divided into two groups including 10 officers, who were interviewed, responsible for traffic and transportation in Muang Chiang Mai; 395 road users, who responded to a questionnaire, in Muang Chiang Mai area. The data from the latter group was statistically analyzed. The results can be summarized as follows. 1. In terms of the problems in implementing the policy traffic and transportation management policies of the police Traffic Division, Chiang Mai Province, it was found that: 1.1. In enforcing the laws, the officers were not strict with the offenders in some cases, for example in rush hours. 1.2. In instilling the disciplines and creating awareness, it was found that the officers were lack of enthusiasm which could be caused by their heavy workload. 1.3. For providing knowledge and welfare, the data indicated that there were problems with budgets for the installation of traffic lights and the technical equipment to prevent and suppress the traffic law offenders were not sufficient. 1.4. For instilling the youths the disciplines and traffic laws, it was found that there was a lack of proactive strategies in instilling the youths the traffic disciplines and insufficient officers with expertise to work with children and youths. 1.5. In terms of people participation, it was found that related public sectors did not have proactive strategies to coordinate with other related sectors. 2. In terms of the evaluation of the implementation of the traffic and transportation 3. management policies of the police Traffic Division, Chiang Mai Province, the data revealed that the implementation was at a rather high level, which included the following aspects: 1) the law enforcement, 2) the discipline instilling and awareness creating, 3) the knowledge and welfare of the police officers, 4) the instilling of the disciplines and traffic laws, and 5) the people participation, respectively. 4. In terms of the evaluation of the solving of the traffic and transportation management problems of the Traffic Division, Chiang Mai Province juristic, it was found that the overall was at a rather high level. First of all, the congestion and the mobility which affected the solving of traffic and transportation problems succeeded at a rather high level. However, the aspects affected the lives and the environment succeeded at a moderate level.
