Abstract: The purpose of this descriptive study was to study the cultural beliefs parents in deciduous tooth care of preschool children during social change in Nongbua sub-district, Chai Prakarn District, Chiang Mai Province. The data collection was performed by using a qualitative method. An informal and in-depth interview guideline: family level, was conducted during 2 month period from March to April 2014. The samples of this study were 8 families of preschool children’s parents in child care centers of the Ban Pong Health Promotion Hospital, Chai Prakan, Chiang Mai Province. This study also considered the background information, ethnicity, parents and oral health care. The results show that there are significant differences in these cultural beliefs during time passed. There are a number of consequent factors; family types, an advanced education, the different ethnic groups. It is also found that some families cultural beliefs or experiences has inherited from the Forefather. These factors have an effect on the parents' beliefs in the tooth care.
