Abstract

This research article focuses on studying the perception of modern architecture in Chiang Mai city among Chiang Mai's youth. The aim is to develop an infographic to provide information on modern architecture in Chiang Mai, serving as a future educational guide for the youth. The methodology involves transforming the elements of photographs of modern architectural facades into graphic representations of modern architecture in Chiang Mai. These graphics will be used as a communication tool to analyze the youth's perception of modern architectural elements in 16 buildings in Chiang Mai. The method used to survey perceptions includes questionnaires and in-depth interviews, comprising: 1) A questionnaire on the perception of modern architectural facades in Chiang Mai. 2) A questionnaire on the youth's experiences with modern architectural facades in Chiang Mai. 3) In-depth interviews to explore the experiences and values assigned to modern architecture by focus groups. The findings will summarize the perception of key elements of modern architecture in the city important to the youth's recognition. It will also explore the youth's experiences with modern architecture in Chiang Mai, which significantly influence their awareness of these buildings' presence today and their appreciation of the value of modern architecture in Chiang Mai. The comprehensive study results will lead to recommendations for designing infographic media to educate the youth via the Facebook platform. This will make information on modern architecture in Chiang Mai more accessible, allowing the youth to independently study the importance of this architecture, which forms a significant historical foundation, through an everyday online platform and continue their learning about these buildings in the future.
