Abstract: This independent study aimed at studying the happiness at work of Chiang Mai University employees during the COVID- 19 Pandemic. It applied the concepts and theories on impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic towards work which are new normal behavior and the impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic towards working life quality which consists of new normal work model, state of economy, state of society, personal environment, and workplace environment. In addition, it also applied the concept of happiness at work by Warr's (1990) : (1) pleasure, (2)enthusiasm and (3)comfort and 8 components from 5 factors or 5 C's that contribute to happiness at work by iOpener (2010): (1) contribution, (2) conviction, (3) culture, (4) commitment, and (5) confidence which are related to the significant characteristics affecting total happiness at work: (6) pride, (7) trust and (8) recognition. Data were collected by questionnaire responses from 388 respondents who are Chiang Mai University employees and were analyzed using descriptive statistics: frequency, percentage and mean; and inferential statistics which is t-Test when divided by job fields. Linear regression was also used to find out the relationships between factors affecting happiness at work and happiness at work of Chiang Mai University employees. The results showed that majority of the samples worked under Language Institute and Faculty of Medicine, held a full-time employee status in the field of supporting employee, were female, aged between 31-40 years, graduated with a Bachelor's degree, earned 20,001-30,000 baht salary with 1-5 years of work experiences. Furthermore, the results presented that Chiang Mai University employees agreed that COVID-19 impacts work in terms of the state of society , new normal working model , and personal environment respectively. However, they felt neutral to the impacts of COVID-19 towards work environment and state of economy respectively. The academic employee and supporting employee have the average of opinions on impacts of COVID-19 towards work in terms of new normal working model, state of society and personal environment at the significance level of 0.05. It was also revealed that the average level of opinions towards overall happiness at work during the COVID-19 Pandemic of Chiang Mai University employees was neutral. The average result also showed that they felt neutral towards their happiness in tems of pleasure in working and comfort in working. However, they agreed that they are happy in terms of work enthusiasm. In addition, there is no difference between academic employees and supporting employees towards happiness at work at the significance level of 0.05. Moreover, Chiang Mai University employees agreed that commitment , conviction, culture, pride, recognition, confidence, contribution, and trust respectively, are factors affecting total happiness at work. Considering the factors affecting happiness at work, it was found that conviction, contribution, confidence, culture and pride were related to happiness at work of Chiang Mai University employees as a whole with the influence of 67.2%.
