Abstract: This study aimed to develop and evaluate the effects of a stress management program on stress and occupation of Chiang Mai University Students. This study adopted a quasi-experimental one-group, pretest-posttest design. The participants were twenty-four Chiang Mai University students who have moderate to severe stress levels measured by Suanprung Stress Test-20 (SPST-20) affecting their daily activities. They were separated into two groups including a controlled group of 12 participants who live their daily life, and an experimental group of 12 participants who participated in 8 sessions during 8 weeks in a stress management program containing stress management skills and stress relaxation techniques. The used outcome assessments adopted in this study included the Suanprung Stress Test-60 (SPST-60) and the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM) that were used before and after participating in the program. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to analyze the demographic characteristics of the participants. Additionally, the Wilcoxon signed-rank test and Mamn - Whitney U test were used for comparing the stress level, occupational performance level, and satisfaction in performing occupations. The level of statistical significance O was set at 0.05. As a result of the first aim of this research work, a stress management program, there was an experimental group participated the program which consisted of two parts; 60 minutes with stress management skills including coping with emotional awareness according to the Vipassana- Kammatthana principle, the Four Foundations of Mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy, and 30 minutes with stress relaxation techniques containing diaphragmatic breathing techniques and progressive muscle relaxation. Regarding the effects of stress management program with participants, the data analysis showed after comparing the data between before and after the program participation, the stress level of the experimental group was reduced and their occupational performance and satisfaction in performing occupations were increased as statistical significance (p <0.05). Moreover, the stress level, occupational performance, and satisfaction in performing occupations of participants from the experimental group who participated in the program were different from the participants from the controlled group as statistical significance (p<0.05). Therefore, the result shows that the stress management program had the ability to decrease stress and to improve occupational performance and satisfaction in performing occupations of Chiang Mai University students.
