Abstract: This research and development (R&D) study aims to develop the motion graphic for skin diseases prevention and to evaluate the effectiveness of using motion graphics to prevent skin diseases in novice at Doisaket Phadungsasana school, Doi Saket, Chiang Mai province. The ADDIE MODEL concept was applied in this study. This study was divided into 3 phases; Phase 1: the situation analysis through in-depth interviews with key informants who are responsible for health promotion and disease prevention in novice and the representative of novices. Phase 2: Motion graphics development which was evaluated by five professionals. Phase 3: Evaluate the effectiveness of motion graphics by comparing knowledge before and after watching the motion graphic, satisfaction, and media performance in 43 novices. A motion graphic developed using the ADDIE MODEL concept provides audiences information on for skin disease prevention in novices through animation, sound effects, and audio description. The media is about three minutes length. It was found that the evaluation of motion graphic quality by professionals was at an excellent level in overall (x̅ =100.60, S.D.=2.07) as well as in each of four categories; the content, suitability, and media effectiveness, and feasibility. Regarding evaluation of knowledge of novices before and after observing motion graphics, the mean knowledge score after observing the motion graphic was higher than before observing the motion graphic statistically significant (p<0.001), the mean knowledge scores before and after observing the motion graphic were 16.37 ± 3. 27 and 19.98 ± 2.37, respectively. The satisfaction of novices with motion graphic was evaluated. After observing the media, it was found that satisfaction in all four parts was at a high level in overall (x̅ =93.48, S.D. =7.90). The efficiency of E1/E2 was also measured by adjusting the efficiency measure to 60/ 60 among individual testing (1:3), group testing (1:10), and field testing (1:30). The efficiency results were 65. 42/ 84. 58, 80. 42/91.67, and 64. 46/ 80. 30, respectively. The findings from this study indicated that the motion graphic is suitable for novice group and had a high satisfaction and efficacy. In addition, this motion graphic can increase the knowledge among novices after observing the media. Therefore, it should be utilized and evaluated further the knowledge and practice among notice for skin disease prevention.
