Abstract

The research objective was to investigate the effects of group counseling program on necessary and sufficient conditions for growth based on Rogers’ and self-confidence among new life insurance agents. The group counseling members of this research were new life insurance agents in Muang Thai Life Assurance, Chiang Mai. Total samples consisted of 24 agents, they were divided into the experimental group (12 samples) and the control group (12 samples) through simple random sampling. Afterward, the experimental group participated in the group counseling program. Whereas the control groups attended the recreational group activity. The data were analyzed by employing Mann–Whitney U Test and Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The research results revealed that 1) before group counseling, both the experimental group and the control group had the level of necessary and sufficient conditions for growth and self-confidence at .05 statistically non-significant difference. 2) after group counseling, the experimental group had higher level of necessary and sufficient conditions for growth and self-confidence than before counseling at .01 statistically significant difference. And 3) the experimental group had higher level of necessary and sufficient conditions for growth and self-confidence than the control group at .001 statistically significant difference.
