Abstract: This independent study is aimed to study the reading and writing abilities in Thai language by using learning activities based on bilingual approach for grade 6students which compare the results to the designed rubrics, and study satisfaction on the learning activities based on bilingual approach from a group of students. The sample in this study was chosen from 3 5 grade 6 students, 2nd semester of academic calendar 2021, by using cluster sampling. The tools used in this study consist of 10 lesson plans for reading and writing development, reading ability test form, writing ability test form, and questionnaire for students' satisfaction. The lesson plans, in particular, are synthesized and designed from the 5steps learning activities based on the bilingual approach. Data was analyzed by the means, percentages, standard deviations, and t-test which compare the 60% of criteria. The study reveals that: 1. After attending the learning activities based on bilingual approach, the ability of reading is shown to be 88.00% which is significantly greater than 60% with statistical level of .05. 2. After attending the learning activities based on bilingual approach, the ability of writing is shown to be 73.33% which is greater than 60% with statistical level of .05. 3. The students' satification is shown to be excellent in all 5 categories.
