Abstract: This study is quantitative. The objectives of the research are as followed 1) to explore the opinions of the administrators on the need for professional knowledge and the style of professional development of the hospital librarians; 2) to explore the opinions of the hospital librarians on the need for their professional knowledge and the style of professional development and 3) to explore the opinions of the administrators and the hospital librarians on the problems and obstacles in the professional development of the hospital librarians. The study was conducted in 2 population groups: 51 deputy administrators for healthcare development, or the director of the medical education center, and 61 hospital librarians, a total of 112 people who work in hospitals dividing into 3 groups, namely 1) center hospitals with medical education centers 2) general hospitals with medical education centers; 3) center hospitals without medical education centers. A total of 103 sets of data were collected from 42 sets of executives (82.35 percent) and 61 sets of hospital librarians (100.00 percent), Data analysis was done by using descriptive research statistics and inferential statistics. The results showed that the administrators want the hospital librarians to develop their overall professional knowledge, with a high average level hitting (X - 4.44). However, when considering cach aspect, the administrators want the hospital librarians to develop their professional knowledge in information technology as a priority, which is hiting at the highest average level (X = 4.58), followed by the development of the library's technical work and average level (X = 4.51) and of the library's service at (X = 4.45) gradually. Besides, the hospital librarians want to develop their overall professional knowledge development, with a high average level hitting (X = 4.38). When considering each aspect, it was found that the priority shall develop professional knowledge in the library's technical work at the highest average level (X = 4.48), followed by 2 almost equal aspects, namely information technology and library administration with the average level at (X = 4.40) and library's services at (X = 4.39) gradually. Furthermore, the results of a study of the overall needs of administrators to the hospital librarians, they shall develop their professional skills with a high average level hitting (X = 4.18). However, when considering each aspect, it was found that the administrators need the hospital librarians to develop themselves in the professional skills of training in various topics organized by their original affiliation under the Library Association and organizations related to libraries in medical and public health with a high average level at (X = 4.48), followed by the need for knowledge management in the library with an average level at (X = 4.40) and the need to attend the meeting of the Library Association and organizations related to medical and public health libraries with average level (X -= 4.24). Besides, for the hospital librarians, who need for self-development model, the overall average level hits (X = 4.20). When considering each aspect, it was found that the priority needs for training on various topics organized by original affiliation under the Libraries Association and organizations related to libraries in medical and public health with an average level X- 4.49), followed by the desire to attend the meeting of the Library Association, and organizations related to medical and public health libraries with average (X = 4.46) and to study and visit the hospital library and other related agencies an average level (X = 4.38). Moreover, the results of an overview study of administrators on problems and obstacles in the professional development of hospital librarians an overall average moderate level (X = 3.34). When considering each aspect, it was found that the problems and obstacles in the professional development of hospital librarians according to the opinion of the administrators, the aspect that was found first is the information technology with a high average level at (X = 3.53), followed by personnel, with moderate average level (X = 3.38), and professional meetings/training seminars with an everage level at (X = 3.25). Besides the opinions of the hospital librarians on problemns and obstacles in professional development, the overall average was moderate (X = 3.37). When considering each aspect, it was found that the problems and obstacles in professional development according to the opinion of the hospital librarians, the aspect that was found first is about the personnel which hits a high average level at (X = 3.57), followed by the aspect on information technology, which is giving the moderate average level at (X = 3.47), and professional meeting training seminar an average level (X = 3.35) gradually.
