Abstract: Thailand has been a popular destination country where Chinese people travel, study, and buy property in recent years. There are more and more Chinese people coming to Thailand for tourism, education, business and even retirement purposes. If Chinese people want to live in Thailand for a long time, a suitable long-term visa is required, but applying for a suitable visa is not a simple task for those who intend to stay long (usually more than 15 days). Chinese applicants often face difficulties and often fail when applying for long-term visas of Thailand. The purpose of this paper is to provide the right knowledge about the visa application process for Chinese applicants through the knowledge platform. First, the status quo of Chinese people applying for long-term Thailand visas is studied; second, the root causes that affect Chinese people applying for visas are identified; then through the theory of knowledge engineering, the knowledge of visa experts is extracted and stored in a useful form for future access. According to the statistics report of the Thai immigration bureau, 4 types of long-term visas are popular among Chinese people, namely: 60-day tourist visa (TR60days), education visa (NON-ED), business visa (NON-B) and family reunion visa (NON-O). The target population of this paper is the Chinese people who apply for these four types of long-term visas. In this paper, relevant information is collected through process flow, interviews, questionnaires, and other tools. Then through analysis and research, the current situation of Chinese people applying for these four types of long-term visas is determined, as well as 2 root causes affecting visa
