Abstract: This analytical research aimed to study the factors affecting the performance involving smog pollution among village health volunteers based on PRECEDE (predisposing, reinforcing and enabling factors) model. The sample group was 203 village health volunteers in Mae On District, Chiang Mai Province recruited by accidental sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires developed by the researcher. The statistics used for analyzing the data consisted of descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, maximum value, minimum value, arithmetic mean and standard deviation and inferential statistics including Chi-square test, Pearson’s correlation and stepwise multiple regression analysis. Statistical significance was set at 0.05. The results showed that the performance on smog pollution among subjects was at high level. Subjects (26.1%) mostly agreed that they had gave the recommendation of preventing open-burning for every households while they (9.9%) less agreed that they had encouraged neighbors to discuss about smog pollution. The results from Chi’s square test showed the significant factors related to the performance involving smog pollution were community positions in the village (p-value = 0.027), attitudes regarding their duties (p-value = 0.004), reinforcing factors (p-value <0.001) and enabling factors (p-value <0.001). Linear regression analysis showed the predictive factors for health volunteer’s performance involving smog pollution which were community position, reinforcing factors and enabling factors. These factors together predicted the performance of health volunteers on smog pollution with 26.5% (Adjusted R Square = 0.258, F = 36.146, p-value < 0.01).
