Abstract: The purpose of this research was to study the level of happiness at work, to compare the happiness levels and to study factors affecting happiness at work of Generation X and Generation Y staff at Dararassamee hospital, Chiang Mai province. The population for this study was 97 staff, divided into 36 Generation X staff and 61 Generation Y staff. The instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation The results of the study showed that the overall happiness level of Generation X and Generation Y were high level and same mean for both generation (𝑥̅ = 3.69). When considering the average level of opinion on the 11 factors affecting happiness at work of Generation X, it was found that 5 factors were at the high level, namely responsibility (𝑥̅ = 4.00), job security (𝑥̅ = 3.88), achievement (𝑥̅ = 3.71), recognition (𝑥̅ = 3.69) and interpersonal relationships superior (𝑥̅ = 3.56), and 6 factors were at the moderate level, namely working conditions (𝑥̅ = 3.50), the work itself (𝑥̅ = 3.44), company policy and administration (𝑥̅ = 3.42), interpersonal relationships subordinate (𝑥̅ = 3.39), salary (𝑥̅ = 3.38) and possibility growth (𝑥̅ = 2.89). For the average level of opinion on the 11 factors affecting happiness at work of Generation Y, it was found that 7 factors were at the high level, namely responsibility (𝑥̅ = 3.82), interpersonal relationships superior (𝑥̅ = 3.76), job security (𝑥̅ = 3.73), working conditions (𝑥̅ = 3.73), recognition (𝑥̅ = 3.67), achievement (𝑥̅ = 3.55) and interpersonal relationships subordinate (𝑥̅ = 3.55) ), and 4 factors were at the moderate level, namely company policy and administration (𝑥̅ = 3.47), the work itself (𝑥̅ = 3.32), salary (𝑥̅ = 3.02) and possibility growth (𝑥̅ = 2.82) When comparing the differences between Generation X and Generation Y overall happiness at work, the results of the study were not different (Sig = 0.863). From the study of factors affecting happiness at work of Generation X and Generation Y staff at Dararassamee hospital, Chiang Mai province analyzed with Multiple regression equations, it was found that 3 factors that affected happiness at work of Generation X and Generation Y were achievement (Beta = 0.293), working conditions (Beta = 0.220) and the work itself (Beta = 0.206), which can predict happiness at work of Generation X and Generation Y staff at Dararassamee hospital, Chiang Mai province by 55.2%.
