Abstract: Sediment integration in the water production system of provincial waterworks authority is mainly used as slow-stirred tank with baffled channel, which is a reinforced concrete structure. In order to improve or expand the production capacity of the slow stirring system, it is necessary to demolish its structure. This will cause the system to stop producing for a long time, as a result, insufficient water production is unable to meet the needs of users during the period of improvement of the production system. Therefore, this research has the concept of designing slow stirring in the water pipes to eliminate turbidity in the water production process. Plug flow reactor tanks without machine tools will be used in this research. The design of the slow stirring pipe for the production process is 30 m3/h, using a PVC pipe of 200 mm with a length of 80 meters, G value for slow stirring is 37 seconds-1, and the chemical reaction time is 5.03 minutes. The results illustrated that the turbidity entering the system ranged from 193 – 12,600 NTU, the turbidity of water which passed through the water production system using slow stirring in the pipe line was between 3.47 – 28.90 NTU, the efficiency of removing turbidity was 90.36 – 99.74%, Therefore, the turbidity was matched with the provincial waterworks authority standard. Moreover, the quality of water passing through the filter tank was in agreement with the provincial waterworks authority standard. In addition, the sedimentary characteristics of slow stirring in the water pipes are gathered into a large flog and it is easier to precipitate. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that slow stirring in the water pipes can be used to replace the original slow stirring system. It has the advantages of taking up less space, fast installation and adaptability to expanded production systems. Nevertheless, slow stirring pipes for water production systems is also able to be applied. The expansion of the production capacity from 60 m3/h to 100 m3/h requires 552,000 baht for installing slow stirring pipes. However. This does not include the work of improving the sedimentation tank and sand filtration system to support the water production capacity of 100 m3/h.
