Abstract: This research aimed to reduce waste and improve quality rate of corn seed conditioning process at the case study company. Currently, wastes were identified at many activities along the process. Moreover, the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) was lower that the target value. At the beginning, the study of this process were carried out. There are four steps of this process as color sorting, size sorting, weight sorting, and seed unloading. Current process was analyzed using process chart, value and no-value activities identification, value stream mapping, and OEE calculation. The key problems were identified using Pareto concept. To reduce waste, Why-why analysis and ECRS concept were applied for improvements. Non-value but necessary activities as cleaning, setting up equipment, and non-necessary transportation were improved. After the improvement, the process lead time was reduced from 293.70 to 237.70 minutes or reduced 56 minutes as 19.06% per lot and the cost reduction can be approximately as 100,102 Baht per year. For quality rate improvement, the main problem was inappropriate storage area and method. Additional equipment is needed and standard procedure for storing product should be implemented. The results of the improvement showed that quality rate was increased from 63.18% to 92.75% and OEE was improved from 56.94% to 90.69%. Based on the last year 2021, rework product was reduced to 604,281 kg and the cost was reduced as 181,284 Baht.
