Abstract: The research topic is Experiences of the Otherness: A Case Study of Myanmar Foreign Migrant Workers in Chiang Mai Province. The objective of this research was to reveal the otherness experiences of Myanmar foreign migrant workers. The study employed a qualitative methodology using a case study. The key informants were selected by a purposive sampling method, subsequently the in-depth Interview was employed with 8 key informants, age between 20 –35 years old. The data from all key informants was analyzed by a content analysis. The research results disclosed the otherness experiences of Myanmar foreign migrant workers which included 5 facets: 1) Experiences of the otherness and adjustment to the new society that was moving to live in the new society made them feltunconnected and not being a part of the majority in the society. However, they felt alien and worried, consequently theytriedto adjust themselves to the majority in terms of language and way of life in order to be harmonious with the majority as much as possible. 2) Work status and insecure feeling in accordance with the illegal migration to Thailand following migrant workers law led them to feel insecure and paranoid. Those affected the way they lived independently. 3) Stigma and labeling among migrant workers usually were labelled stereotypically which led to be stigma in a negative thought. The causes of stigma and labeling came from the repeating of journalism and transforming of thought from one generation to the others. 4) Discrimination and exploitation occurred when migrant workers were stereotyped by the society in a negative side, it made them viewed with prejudice that they were pushed to be marginalized people in the society. As a result, they were treated unequally, taken advantages and exploited. 5) Being viewed as degraded and untrusted, migrant workers were labelled in a negative side and pushed to be marginalize people. As a result, they faced the experiences of being viewed as degraded, incompetent, paranoid, and untrusted which led to be the low bargaining power. Additionally, the research results were discussed with the qualitative information and connected with concepts and theories of counseling psychology in a meaningful and sophisticated manner in order to reveal the otherness experiences of Myanmar foreign migrant workers which included 4 facets: 1) human potentiality and acceptance yearn 2) congruence and incongruence 3) freedom and responsibility and 4) human values and dignity
