Abstract: The objective of this study was to study the water needs of farmers. Study the general conditions, costs and returns from the production of rice paddies. And to analyze the factors affecting the rice production of the farmers in the Mae Kuang River Basin Doi Saket District Chiang Mai Province. Using data from interviews with 100 households, 50 households in the areas with royal rain operation and 50 households in areas not with royal rain operation. The determination of water demand using the the Penman Monteith model. Use Cobb-Douglas production function in analyzing the factors affecting the production of rice paddies. And using mean, frequency, percentage in presenting the data. Results of the study on the water needs of farmers was found to have the highest water demand in September. The month with the lowest water demand was December, including the whole production season, the total water demand was 497.56 mm. The results of the study on the general condition of the farmers of farmers in the Mae Kuang river basin Doi Saket district Chiang Mai province found that most of the farmers were male. They were 55-64 years old, most of them were educated in grade 4, and had a period of 11-20 years of cultivation. The most popular rice cultivars in the area were San-Pah-Tawng 1 and most use water from irrigation which is sufficient for agriculture. The perception of the royal rain operations in the area Most of them know that there is a rain operation in the district.
