Abstract

Fleet management is one of important tasks in retail business. This activity is a routine work that should be carried out every day, starting from fleet’s size selection that should fit with the area in front of stores; assigning the number of stores to each truck based on maximizing fleet’s utilization. Then the proposed method was used in decision support system development via Labview. One sample case study’s problem was selected to test the effectiveness of the proposed procedure. The results from the current method were to assign 3 trucks with 78.25% utilization on average, while the results from the proposed solution were the reduction in the number of trucks to 2 trucks with higher average utilization as 88.33%. The program developed from this research can be used at the company case study. Using this program, to generate fleet’s plans can be carried out easier and the plans are more efficient.
