Abstract: The objectives of this study were to investigate health behaviors, mental health and stress of female students residing in dormitories of Chiang Mai University. There were 378 female students recruited in this study. Most of them had age in range 17 - 19 years old (64.18%) and studied in the first year of education (61.4%). The highest percentage of them (50.79 %.) studied in the faculties of humanities and social sciences. Instruments used in this study were health behaviors questionnaire and mental health assessment. Descriptive statistics was used to analyze the data including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and the estimations of percentage and mean of population. The results showed that most of female students residing in dormitories of Chiang Mai University consumed foods for three meals. Their favorite meal was lunch. They preferred spicy food and they liked to buy foods from cafeterias in the university. Regarding these behaviors, the estimated percentages of the population with a confidence level of 95% were 64.64 to 73.98, 61.62 to 71.19, 56.99 to 66.82 and 77.83 to 85.66 respectively. The levels of practicing for food consumption and exercise of the students were good (with average scores at 2.57 and 2.98 respectively). They had relaxation period by sleeping or napping. For their mental health, the data showed that 60.60% of the students had mental health as general and 45.24% of them had stress at a low level. They managed their stress by reading books, novels, series, journals and cartoons.
