Abstract: This cross-sectional analytic study’s objectives were to describe the characteristics of intimate partner violence against women and related factors to violence in Mae Sot MunicipalTak Province. The sample consisted of 412 Women, data were collected by structured questionnaire during Mach to April 2015. Descriptive statistics and binary logistic regression were used to analyses The study results were shown that the intimate partner violence against women performed by husband were the highest on psychological abuse: swearing/contempt for abusing (49.5%), Intimidation /satire/ ironically (46.8%) and forced to do something that women against their will (42.7%). On the physical aggression, it was found that women were physically abuse (22.1%), being hurt by weapons (5.1%). According to sexual violence: forced intercourse was found as 15.3% The factors that significantly related to violence were 1) Husband’s personal factors: age under 25 year old, unemployed and low income less than 9,000 bath/month. 2) Husband’s personality and behaviors: Moody, anger management issue, often stressed, solve problem with violence, and owns a weapon, drink alcohol, gambling, and drug usage. 3) Family characteristic and family relationship: living together without wedding ceremony, have no marriage registration, and no money deposit, extended family, bad relation between couple and husband family (p<0.05) This findings are useful forthe persons who work in this field. It can be used for planning to prevent and decrease intimate partner violence against women in the study area.
