Abstract: | The study was improvement plan for supply chain management of field crop firms in Lamphun province. The objectives of this independent study were to understand supply chain management, operating procedure and performance measure of the operation of each case. It was specific for maizes and cassava business. Maize Businesss studied four cases (Case A, B, C and D) and cassava business studied three case (Case A, B and C) that case A was located in Muang district, Longan batch type dryer and cement patio, case B was located in Muang district, continuous type dryer and cement patio, case C was located in Li district, continuous type dryer and cement patio and case D was located in Pasang district, Longan batch type dryer. The result was shown below. Maize Businesss bought raw materials from within the province and nearby provinces such as Chiang mai or Chiang rai. There were two ways to produce a dehumidifying and drying cement patio. The products were separated by finished goods to be sold to customers. The results showed that operational efficiency. Case B and C have evaluated performance. Probably as a result of the performance measure that was the seed distribution and the purchase of corn cob. They can support many more materials. But they should improve the quality of the production. Case A had efficiency in production. They have produced products to meet the needs of customers better. Case D has manageability cash flow as well. Cassava business bought raw materials from farmers that cultivated within the province and nearby provinces. Production process used only the cement patio. Finished products will be sold to the customer. The results showed that operational efficiency. Case C has evaluated performance. Case A should improve the planning, procurement and production. Case B should improve the quality of the production for reduce returns. Business of field crop firms had similar operation. The differences in performance were machinery and tools used in each case. In addition, the field crop firms had short of cash flow for persuaded suppliers. So enterpreneurs should have the working capital to facilitate the operation. The problems were there was the plan in the long term, not useing old data to decision, no check materials and the production was slow to function. It may cause damage to the product. Suggestions for improving operations, owner should get an understanding with farmers that upstream of raw material. The result was a quality from the first step in operation. Production planning and planning to used machine for maximum benefit. In the above improvement plan lead operational efficiency, reducing the period of operation and strategies to manage assets. |
