Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the public policy formation process of local government organizations and to know the impact of stakeholders on the public policy formulation of the local government in Mae Chaem District, Chiang Mai Province. By using qualitative research methods, in-depth interviews from 3 groups of informants, namely, local administrators; local government officials and representatives of stakeholders total of 30 people. The results of the study revealed that 1) In determining public policy of local government organizations has the most important process in the formation process of public policy which originated from the problem of suffering or the needs of the people and collecting information on problems in the form of a community Along with analyzing the problem by prioritizing from 2 factors: the urgent need to solve the problem and the budget. and lead to the design of policy alternatives. which is considered from the scope of roles and responsibilities in accordance with central and regional plans and policies; 2) relevant regulations and laws; and 3) Stakeholders are positively and negatively affected by local government organizations public policies.
