Abstract: The purposes of the present study were to translate The Vocal Fatigue Index from English into Thai language using Beaton and Guillemin's back-translation process and to investigate the psychometric property of The Vocal Fatigue Index - Thai version (VFI-TH) in areas of content validity, sensitivity, specificity, and internal consistency reliability. Participants 18 years of age and above were recruited, comprising 22 adults who had voice disorders from the benign lesions and 60 people with normal voices. Content validity was obtained from the agreement judgment of 3 experts. Internal consistency reliability was calculated by using Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Results demonstrated that the sensitivity of the VFI-TH was 22.7%, and the specificity was 100%. The internal consistency in part 2 (α = .87), part 1 (α = .93), and part 3 (α = .94) of the instrument was ranked in very good to excellent levels (α = .87-.94) and classified as an excellent instrument for the full version (α = .94). These results indicated that the VFI-TH had acceptable validity and reliability, which can be used as an additional assessment for voice disorders.
