Abstract: The objectives of this article were: 1) to examine the employee's awareness of the benefit they will receive from the Workmen's Compensation Fund for employers registered as juristic persons in Chiang Mai 2) to examine employer expectations towards the desired benefits received from the Compensation Fund. 3) to examine the need for creating awareness about the compensation fund benefits for employers inorder to raise more awareness of the registration. 4) to investigate the issues associated with employer registration and access to Chiang Mai Social Security services. This study employed a qualitative research methodology and conducted interviews with key informants, including employers registered as juristic persons with the Chiang Mai Department of Business Development (both registered and not yet registered with the Chiang Mai Provincial Social Security Office in 46 cases). The tools used were semi-structured interviews and data analysis by content analysis method. In summary, this study found that:1) employers acknowledge and understand the benefits they will receive. Furthermore, employers recognize the importance of registration, but employers who are not registered still lack awareness of the benefits of the Compensation Fund. 2) Employers registered as juristic persons in Chiang Mai expect to receive medical treatment for an unlimited amount of money; the room rate is actually paid; monthly compensation; and the increase of funeral expenses. 3) Employers require staff to go to the workplace to provide information and explain about employer registration for the compensation fund. 4) Some steps of employer registration, such as document verification and registration, are delayed. There should be a channel for preliminary document verification before entering the service, and there should be an option to reserve a spot in the queue in advance online.
