Abstract

The thesis presents Drug Distribution System Development between The Hospital and Local Drug Stores. This thesis aims to select local drug store representatives as medicine distributors and analyze the hospital cost. This thesis can be divided into 3 parts as follows: First, a mathematical model developed to minimize the number of local drug store representatives considering the distance that patients can receive services thoroughly and reduce the cost of transporting medicines to hospitals. It was calculated that results by LINGO 14.0 programming. Second, analyzing the minimum possible cost of this project including the hospital, local drug stores, and patients cost. And third comparison of costs between 24 rounds of drug delivery per year and 12 rounds of drug delivery per year. Furthermore, there is a comparison of local pharmacist labor costs between contracted labor and wages calculated from the proportion of actual work. As a result of the study, local drug store representatives were selected from drug stores that could provide services within a radius that covered all patients in each area. The recommended radius is the one for the minimum travel cost of patients. In addition, research suggests that reducing drug delivery cycles to 12 rounds per year can reduce system costs by 16%, without the reduction of drug delivery cycles not affecting the drug delivery cycles of patients. The final part is a comparison of wages for pharmacists at local pharmacies. It was found that contract wages were similar to wages that were proportionate to actual work during the 15 22.5-minuteute period.
