Abstract: In view of the increasing electricity consumption in university-type control buildings under the Energy Conservation Promotion Act (1992) and No.2 in 2017, there is an interest in studying the factors affecting the electricity usage of university-type control buildings in Thailand. This study grouped the buildings into three types: university control buildings with hospitals on five sites; general control buildings with 32 sites; and technology universities on 5 sites, selecting the factors that affect electricity use and collecting data from Thailand’s energy database for analysis. In the analysis, the EViews program analyzed the quantitative decline in the energy performance index using comprehensive data from 2010 to 2021. The results of the research in factor selection were factors, air-conditioned area, non-air-conditioned area, number of staff, number of students, temperature, number of beds, number of outpatients, number of inpatients, number of working days, and formulated equations for energy performance indicators of all 3 types of universities. It was found that the number of in-patients affected the electricity consumption of universities with hospitals. air-conditioned area and the number of students, and found factors affecting general universities (the only teaching place) and the type of technology at the university, namely the number of students, the air-conditioned area, and personnel. This can be considered from the probability value, where the probability value is in the range of 0–1, which is close to 1, meaning that the probability and reliability of the data are more accurate.
