Abstract: This is a cross-sectional study. The goal is to investigate the factors associated with mental health status and stress among medical personnel responsible for the coronavirus disease 2019 in Lampang province. The sample group consisted of executives and medical personnel who were in charge of work related to Coronavirus Disease 2019 under the Incident Command System (ICS) structure and Emergency Operation Center (EOC) operations. The convenience sampling method was used to select 384 people for the sample group. Data were collected using self-administered questionnaires between June 6 to July 6, 2022. The descriptive statistics used for data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and the Chi-square test. The results showed that most of the medical personnel (57.6%) responsible for work on Coronavirus disease 2019 in Lampang province did not have mental health problems. Moreover, most of the samples (77.9%) were stressed at a normal level. The personal factors related significantly to the mental health status of personal factors of medical personnel responsible for Coronavirus Disease 2019 in Lampang Province were age, marital status, working age, workplace, adequacy of income, chronic diseases, and housing area (p < 0.05). Factors related to the performance characteristics of medical personnel responsible for work related to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 in Lampang Province, were average working hours per day and role at work. These factors were significantly related to the mental health status of medical personnel in the situation of the coronavirus disease 2019 outbreak (p < 0.001). Moreover, the personal factors related to the work stress of medical personnel responsible for Coronavirus Disease 2019 in Lampang Province, were namely age, marital status, working age, current job position, workplace, monthly income, adequacy of income, and housing characteristics (p < 0.05). Factors associated with the performance characteristics of medical personnel responsible for work related to the Coronavirus 2019 in Lampang Province were average working hours per day and major roles which were significantly correlated to stress (p < 0.05). Regarding this study, the responsible authorities were recommended to have a surveillance system of mental health problems and stress for personnel, especially in the group where a higher number of health problems and stress were found. In addition, a plan for personnel rotation should be conducted to improve the efficiency of operations following the Incident Command System (ICS) structure. Lastly, the health and mental health promotion policies such as career advancement and motivation to work should be promoted.
