Abstract: New one-dimensional lanthanide coordination polymer, namely [Eu(phth)(OAc)(H2O)] (H2phth = phthalic acid, HOAc = acetic acid), has been synthesized and structurally characterized. Single crystal and powder X-ray diffraction revealed that the as-synthesized compound crystallized in the monoclinic C2/c space group, a = 26.5484(11) Å, b = 7.2632(2) Å, c = 15.3622(8) Å, β = 130.906(9) o , V = 2236.3(3) Å3 and Z = 8. The framework is one-dimensional in nature and made up from the edge-sharing tricapped trigonal prismatic TPRS-{EuIIIO9} motif. Here, the framework architecture and registry of [Eu(phth)(OAc)(H2O)] are described, along with its room temperature photoluminescent property.
