Abstract: We discuss the possibility of connecting Bateman’s approach to the concept of maximal acceleration in quantum theory. We show that if such a correlation exists, for very large acceleration or for very large time, waves propagate in atemporal space. This suggests that string theory is a limiting case of an underlying theory.
