Abstract: Effects of M-type barium hexaferrite (BH) on phase, microstructure, mechanical and electrical properties of barium titanate doped with Zr or MBT-xBH ceramics were systematically investigated. All ceramics presented pure perovskite structure with orthorhombic phase. Average grain size and porosity decreased while hardness increased with increasing BH and showed the highest value of 6.01 GPa for the 1.0 mol% sample. The mechanical properties improvement was related with the change in microstructure and porosity. The BH doping enhanced room dielectric constant by 266% with reduction of dielectric loss value (@1 kHz). Furthermore, grain size was found to affect with the change in strain behavior.
