Abstract: This research aims to 1) Study the factors that cause the operational mistakes of knowledge worker in bending process of air catering equipment manufacturing 2) Design and develop document management system to support operational work in the bending process. Knowledge Management process, and Knowledge Engineering methodology are used to analyze and synthesize knowledge, and Document Management System (DMS) is used to solve the problem. This research scope is to study problem and root cause of nonconforming product in bending process at Zodiac Air Catering Equipment (Thailand) Ltd. Findings of the research are as follows: 1) The result from knowledge audit stage showed that critical knowledge of bending process includes machine maintenance knowledge, drawings knowledge, sequence of product bending knowledge, selection of punch and die, machine operation, adjustment of machine parameter, and knowledge of how to use measurement tool. Those are the critical knowledge that cause problems of knowledge workers in the bending process such as difference in the steps of bending sequence, difference in selecting punch and die, and difference in adjusting the machine parameters. 2) The result from knowledge analysis and synthesis stage revealed that the difference in the steps of bending sequence and the selection of punch and die do not have fixed method, and these types of knowledge are difficult and complicated to explain. This makes the differences in the operational work of individual workers, resulting in the difference in the bending result. 3) The result from knowledge storage showed that storing the method of the bending and forming process centrally help reduce the differences in operational work. The organizational intranet and document management system affected the retrieval speed, knowledge sharing and distribution, and the security that protect knowledge and documents lost. 4) Apply document management system (DMS) as document center to improve knowledge organization, knowledge codification and refinement, knowledge access, and knowledge sharing at bending process found that organize and share working method as a document center can reduce the gap of different working method and working more faster to find, access and share work instruction document securely. 5) The result from knowledge use stage summarized that implementing the standard of work instruction and centralized storing knowledge can reduce operational mistakes, measured by the reduction of the scrap cost in bending and forming process showed a reduced value from 89,224 THB per year to 74,699 THB per year.
