Abstract

This research aimed to study the historical, socio-cultural context of general Karen ethnic group in Thailand including a study of community, its history, social and, culture of "Pwo" Karen ethnic groups, Baan Khang Jai, Wang Chin district, Phrae province. Baan Khang Jai, Wang Chin district, Phrae province Wellhouse Spirit-feeding Rites of and irrigation system are also investigated together with Wellhouse Spirit-feeding Rites problems and obstacles. Finally, conservation and inheritance mechanism on Wellhouse Spirit-feeding Rites of Baan Khang Jai, Wang Chin district, Phrae province would be presented. This qualitative research used focus group discussions, structured and unstructured interviews, and fieldworks and applied to 60 key informants who was selected by purposive sampling technique. The result found that Wellhouse Spirit-feeding Rites of "Pwo" Karen ethnic groups, Baan Khang Jai, Wang Chin district, Phrae province. Baan Khang Jai, Wang Chin district, Phrae province is one of conservation and inheritance of itrigation system on Wiang Kosai National Park. The relationship of irrigation's users (people) and superstitious (Wellhouse Spirit) through 2 days of rites. conservation and inberitance mechanism on Wellhouse Spirit-feeding Rites of Baan Khang Jai, Wang Chin district, Phrae province is Pwo Karen Amazing Fair which comprised of 4 projects and can maximize by tourism and learning afterward.
