Abstract: The objectives of this study were (1) to investigate levels of optimism, resilience, social support, problem-focused coping and well-being at work of civil service and government officers in the three southern border provinces; and (2) to examine predicting power of optimism, resilience, social support, and problem-focused coping on well-being at work of civil service and government officers in the three southern border provinces. The sample comprised of 398 civil service and government officers in the three southern border provinces; i.e (1) Yala, (2) Pattani, and (3) Narathiwat. The research instruments included a personal data questionnaire, the revised life orientation test (LOT-R), the 9-item resilient inventory (RI-9), the multidimensional scale of perceived social support, and the Brief COPE. The statistics used in data analysis were descriptive statistics, Pearson’s product moment correlation and hierarchical multiple regression analysis. The results of this study are as follows: 1. Civil service in the three southern border provinces had the highest level of well-being at work. (M = 3.29, SD = .47) Government officers in the three southern border provinces had the high level of well-being at work. (M = 2.56, SD =.51) 2. Optimism did not predict well-being at work of civil service and government officers in the three southern border provinces province (β = -.02, p >.01) 3. Resilience significantly predicted well-being at work of civil service and government officers in the three southern border provinces province (β = .22, p<.01). 4. Social support significantly predicted well-being at work of civil service and government officers in the three southern border provinces province (β = .33, p<.01). 5. Problem-focused coping significantly predicted well-being at work of civil service and government officers in the three southern border provinces province (β = .34, p<.01).
