Abstract: This research is a study of the control of coal dust diffusion in the crusher by electrical charged water curtain and air curtain. Tested with a test sink 0.6 meters wide and 1.2 meters long and 1.6 meters high, which has the characteristics and the ratio of the sink of the crusher 14 times. Which will be equipped with 3 types of coal dust diffusion control systems which are water curtain system, air curtain system and local exhaust ventilation system within the system, there is a corona charging to spray water for treat coal dust. By considering the speed of the air curtain and the suction speed of the air in the local exhaust ventilation system that is most suitable for controlling diffusion in mathematical models with the ESI-CFD program. The results of the calculation with the program will then be tested with the test sink to see the characteristics of diffusion and amount of coal dust produced. When dumping 9.5 kilograms of coal at a 30˚ dumping angle from the coal tank, dump the coal into the test sink at a speed of 5 meters per second. In the case of installing a water curtain system, it is found that most of the coal dust is diffused to the front of the test sink, as is the case with no diffusion control system installed. In the case that an air curtain is installed was found that the air curtain should be installed at the mouth of the test sink at the speed of 35 meters per second can reduce coal dust in the front of the test basin 96.55% by controlling all coal dust to the side of the test sink. And when installing the local exhaust ventilation system at the area where coal dust diffuses from the air curtain system was found that at the air speed in the suction pipe over 9 meters per second able to suction 97.25% of coal dust into the system. In which coal dust enters the local ventilation systemwhen passing through the air cleaning it was found that when using a water spray, it can trap coal dust by about 44.12% and when using water spray with 7 kV electrical charge, it can trap coal dust about 76.39%. From all forms of study results It was found that the best control of coal dust diffusion at the test sink was Air curtain installation speed of 35 meters per second combined with the local ventilation system that has a velocity of 9 meters per second in the suction duct and the treatment of coal dust in the air cleaning equipment of a specific ventilation system with 7 kV electrical charged water spray.
