Abstract: The objectives of this research were 1) to study the basic personal characteristics, economic and some social conditions of rubber growers in Doi Luang District, Chiang Rai Province. 2) to study the possibility of implementing sustainable forest management following the FSC standards of rubber growers in Doi Luang district, Chiang Rai province. 3) to study the problems, needs, and suggestions for implementing sustainable forest management following the FSC standards of rubber growers in Doi Luang, Chiang Rai. The samples of the research were 101 rubber growers who participate the sustainable rubber plantation training accordance to the Forest Stewardship Council standard with Rubber Authority of Thailand, Chiang Rai Branch. Data were collected through the use of interview schedule. The statistic applied in this research were frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, maximum, minimum, standard deviation and multiple regression analysis (enter method). The study indicated that most farmers are female 50.5 percent, with an average age of 57.90 years and educated in the primary level. The average experience of rubber cultivation was 12.20 years. The average annual growing rubber area 13.65 rai. In the year of cultivation 2561, The average income from rubber was 91,930.00 baht/year and the average debt is 240,573.33 baht. Most farmers receive information sustainable forest management standards and contacting with officers or related departments on average 1.82 times. Farmers had knowledge of sustainable forest management standards and able to follow the practice of sustainable forest management standards implementation at high levels. From hypothesis testing, found that the level knowledge of sustainable forest management standards and level of experience rubber cultivation has a positive relationship with possibility of Sustainable Forest Management significantly (0.05). Farmer’s problem,needs and recommendations for sustainable forest management Standards Implementation by Rubber Growers in Doi Luang District, Chiang Rai Province, found that farmers have problems with ownership rights documents, difficult data recording problems and unable to record data consistently. Farmer’s requirement is the continuity of the project. Project progress tracking and need to contact the person responsible for the project directly. However, rubber growers have a suggestion. There should be additional knowledge training continuously and there should be staff or related departments to check the soil quality for rubber growers.
