Abstract: In this work, the (Ba0.7Ca0.3)1-x/2Ti1-xFexO3-x ceramics, where x = 0, 0.01, 0.02 and 0.03, were fabricated successfully by a conventional solid state sintering method. The doping induced decrease in tetragonality of BCT ceramic, which caused ferroelectric transition temperature to lower temperature. Maximum dielectric constant was decreased due to the decrease of grain size and creation of oxygen vacancies. The presence of diffuse dielectric peak was attributed to the reduction of grain size and polar nano region formation. In addition, change in tetragonality and diffuse phase behavior affected ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties of the ceramics. The result here suggested that Fe addition (x = 0.03) could enhance dielectric constant at room temperature of BCT, which may be used in dielectric devices.
