dc.description.abstract© 2018 IEEE. Battery Energy Storage Systems can alleviate the problems that the uncertainty and variability associated with renewable energy sources. The applications such as integration of renewable energy into the grid, peak shaving in low voltage grid and emergency backup. It could also be used to controlling the power flow and grid minimising congestion in the distribution network. In this context, the paper focuses on addressing problems in determining the location and size of BESS by considering network parameters that play an important role for grid-supporting in Electrical Distribution Network. The paper proposes the formulation of a problem that include the voltage support of BESS to the grid and the total network losses, which the problems mentioned above is a complex problem and requires the use of specialized methods to solve the problem more quickly. Next section will present two step of analyzed methods. The first stage describes to use Genetic Algorithm for preparing placement and sizing of BESS. The variables are set to evaluate the objective function and determine fitness function of Genetic Algorithm equation. The second stage is installing test the placement and sizing of Battery Energy Storage Systems of the solution provided by the first part for evaluates the fitness by AC-optimal power flow problem test by DIgSILENT PowerFactory programming. The IEEE 34 bus test feeder is a test case used to display and discuss the performance of the proposed methodology. The test results show that the optimal siting and sizing of Battery Energy Storage Systems could be used in solving grid management and grid upgrade on Electrical Distribution Network integration effectively.en_US
