Abstract: This Independent Study studies about “Uses, Gratifications and Gender Role Learning from Erotica Novels Among Readers in Bangkok Metropolitan” which aims 1) to study meaning creation of love and gender role of Gay Erotica Novels. 2) to study a selective exposure, uses, and gratifications which affect gender role learning from Gay Erotica Novels. Research tools in this study are Content Analysis Form, Questionnaire, and Interview. From the result, it was found 1. Gay Erotica Novels is creating the meaning of love and gender role by love between men and men are stable and serious. Gay is normal guy who loves guy. They have clearly and constant in gender roles. And they do not alternate the roles with their partners. 2. From studied a selective exposure, uses, and gratifications which affect gender role learning from Gay Erotica Novels, it was found both of selective exposure and gender role learning from Gay Erotica Novels are different. Uses and gratifications relative with gender role learning in medium level effect. However, it was found that most of the Erotica Novels readers have good attitude in love and men who have sex with men before reading. The selective exposure of this kind of novels responds readers’ demand which have not been impacted learning of love meaning and gender roles. Meaning creation of love and gender role of gay is not corresponding to all reality.
