Abstract

The study of the temples ‘museum management in Mueang district, Lampang province aims to manage the temples ‘museum as learning resource of Lampang’s cultural identity. From the survey, it is found that there are 8 temples ‘museum in Mueang district, Lampang province. However, only 3 following sample of temples ‘museum were studied: 1. KhelangNakhon Museum, PhraChedi Sao Lung temple 2. LannaMuseum,PhraKaeo Don Tao Temple 3.WatLampangKlang (east side) Museum. The result of the study found that in temples ‘museum in Mueang district, Lampang province, there are 2 problems which cause poor service. First, is the management itself. This is because temples’ museums are short in the number of people providing good care and service leading to the problem of being unable to open for public visit and constant maintenance. Second, is the museums’ displays as they are disorganized and lack of suitable learning media leading to then being an unsuccessful learning resource. Therefore, the patterns and methods of temples ‘museum management in Mueang district, Lampang province were proposed by arranging organized display correspond to evidences kept in each temples ‘museum. In addition, continuity format of display should be managed for the purpose of conducting knowledge that shows Lampang’s cultural identity. Furthermore, community should be managed to get involved in operation. Finally, the collaboration with local administration for support and sponsorship should also be considered in order to create the temples ‘museum as resource to properly learn about story of locality.
