Abstract: The objective of this study was to evaluate the acute effect of energy boosting on exercise in sedentary healthy Subjects. The method wes a randomized double-blind controlled trial. subjects were 15 sedentary males with an average age of 20.40 ± 1.83 years. Three sessions of study was set up as the 1st (control), 2nd (placebo) and/or 3rd (supplement) sessions. After supplementation the energy boosting supplement (Bios Life E) or placebo was giver 30 min prior to exercise on treadmill, running time and oxygen consumption via minute ventilation ratio were then evaluated with a direct breath-by- breath technique during the heart rate at 80% of maximal heart rate. All parameters from three periods were analyzed with repeated measurement ANOVA on SPSS program, p ≤ 0.05 being considered as significant Our results revealed that running time in 3 sessions; control (9.65±1.58 min), placebo (10.10±1.49 min) and Bios Life E (10.60±1.21 min) were not statistically different (p = 0.384). VO2/VE ratio of three sessions; control (1.96±0.39), placebo (1.86±0.25) and Bios Life E (1.79±0.24) did not show statistical difference, either (p = 0.244) This result indicates that supplementation with Bios Life E did not show evidence in boosting the exercise tolerance and oxygen utilization in sedentary men.
