Abstract: Accidents at the railway crossing intersection in the Mueang Nga area pose significant risks to the lives of the local population and the assets of government agencies in Thailand. This thesis aims to address this issue through the design of a safe and efficient railway crossing intersection in the Mueang Nga area of Lamphun Province. The research investigates the technical and operational requirements, urban and architectural design principles, and land use planning aspects of the railway crossing intersection.
The study adopts a comprehensive research methodology, incorporating design principles and quality standards derived from Melbourne, Australia's Urban Design Framework - Measures and Qualitative Benchmarks. The data collection process includes surveys of the intersection's physical characteristics and traffic volume. Analysis techniques based on AASHTO and VicRoads guidelines evaluate the railway crossing, corner, and junction aspects. The study area is further analyzed using a standardized design approach, considering the railway track elevation, dimensions, column spacing, proportions, and perspectives.
The study results demonstrate that the T.M. values obtained from the Mueang Nga railway crossing intersection survey exceeded the safety threshold of 100,000, affirming the urgent need for a grade-separated crossing at this location. Based on theoretical analyses and discussions, the research proposes design solutions that align with Melbourne, Australia's elevated railway track design standards, considering ten critical criteria. The objective is to enhance safety, efficiency, and visual integration at the railway crossing intersection to mitigate accidents and ensure seamless traffic flow.
The recommendations from this research are expected to contribute to government agencies' efforts to create a safer and more livable environment. The proposed design solutions hold the potential for developing high-value areas, benefiting both residents and visitors. The emphasis on safety measures and improved efficiency at the railway crossing intersection is crucial in reducing accidents and enhancing the overall transportation system.
This thesis offers insights into the design of railway crossing intersections, explicitly focusing on ensuring public safety and accessibility in local communities. Integrating these research findings into the design of main road networks, coupled with the conducted study, can significantly enhance road users' safety and potentially reduce future accidents.2566-07-01T00:00:00ZRestorative environments for small residential units

Title: Restorative environments for small residential units

Abstract: The global trend of urbanization and recent pandemic have led to a significant shift in how people work and live, increasing the demand for small residential units suitable for remote work and prolonged living. As indoor time increases, the importance of restorative environments in these spaces becomes evident, positively impacting productivity, reducing fatigue, and alleviating stress. This study aimed to identify effective restorative environments for small residential units and contribute to existing knowledge. Six virtual restorative environment models were developed by combining two forms (Rectilinear and Curvilinear) and three styles (Minimal, Natural, and Rustic). 89 participants, with experience in lockdown or working from home in small residential units, took part in the study using head-mounted virtual reality devices to evaluate the simulated environments with an adapted PRS questionnaire.
Results showed that all virtual restorative environments received higher ratings than non-restorative environment. The combination of Rectilinear form with Minimal style and Curvilinear form with Natural style received the highest ratings. Interestingly, nature analogues in the form of curves and natural materials did not yield expected results. The findings highlight the importance of individual preferences, compatibility with environments, and the coherence of elements in enhancing restorative qualities. Creating an effective restorative environment involves more than just incorporating natural-based elements. These findings provide valuable guidance for creating indoor environments that promote well-being and productivity, particularly in the context of remote work and extended stays in small residential units.2023-08-01T00:00:00Zแนวทางการออกแบบโถงบันไดและการจ่ายลมในทาวน์เฮาส์เพื่อป้องกันฝุ่นละอองโดยใช้ระบบอัดอากาศ

Abstract: Air pollution problems in Thailand that particulate matter less than 2.5 microns in size exceeds the standard by 3.6 times the World Health Organization air quality guidelines. It brings a variety of ways to prevent particulate matter. Making the indoor area is a dust-free area by the positive pressure chamber system with air purification system is a highly efficient method. A townhouse has an open space between the floors of the stair hall that connects, that can use the principle of the air-pressurized system to make every floor of the building have positive pressure. When using principle of single-injection air-pressurized system is implemented in a typical townhouse with SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation program. There were problems in controlling the direction of air flow and controlling the pressure caused by the general style of the stair hall, not designed to use this principle and system. This research aims to study the design of stairwell and air distribution in a townhouse to prevent particulate matter using air-pressurized by testing from modeling with initial variables that is a stairwell position, stair style, air distribution position and the number of air distribution points in the stair hall. There are indicators of differential pressure, air velocity and airflow rate. Simulated tests on climate control variables during the most critical period March and Aprill. It was found that the differential pressure values were quite similar and within the specified criteria by the form in which the stairwell position is in front the straight stair shape produces the greatest differential pressure compared to other designs. As for the average wind speed in each area on each floor, they are quite similar. The 3-point distribution in every floor will spread the wind more evenly than the 2-point distribution, but the wind speed is relatively low. Compared to a 2-point distribution, air distribution at the bottom and top of the building can produce more compressed air flow at the first floor than distribution at the center of the building. In terms of air flow rate, It was found that the U-shape stair had higher Air change rates value than the others. which is related to the volume of the interior space from the design stage, starting from determining the air quality class. Calculate the volume of compressed air hallway design and design of air distribution Therefore, it is a guideline to make the area inside the house a dust-free area. techniques can be applied or further research on other variables to be more efficient. In this way, the result can create a good quality of life for the residents as well.2023-05-01T00:00:00Zอินสตาแกรมสเปซ : วิเคราะห์ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่าง สถาปัตยกรรมฉาก, ทุน และปฏิบัติการเชิงพื้นที่ กรณีศึกษาร้านกาแฟเชียงใหม่

Abstract: This research seeks to identify the components and relationships that contribute to the creation of Instagrammable spaces in coffee shops in Chiang Mai province, with a focus on online social media popularity. The study investigates three main components: "Decorated Shed Architecture" based on the theory of The Duck and The Decorated Shed by Robert Venturi et al. (1972), "Capital," and "Spatial Practices" influenced by the concepts of capital, social groups, habitus, and spatial practices according to Pierre Bourdieu (1996). These three components are explored through the examination of 10 popular coffee shops in Chiang Mai and the behavior of five online social media users.
The research findings reveal that Instagrammable spaces in coffee shops in Chiang Mai province are a result of three key components: "Decorated Shed Architecture," "Capital," and
"Spatial practices." These three components are interconnected as follows: Decorated Shed Architecture This component encompasses spaces that serve as both photography areas and visually appealing zones. It involves the amalgamation of architectural features, including Decorated Shed Architecture, and
the communication of these elements with interior decorations. Capital The distinctiveness of each "Decorated Shed Architecture" coffee shop is influenced by the owner's differing "capital." This leads to varied "Spatial Practices," such as selecting architectural features and communicating with decorations, including choices of location, architect, or designer.Spatial Practices: Simultaneously, online social media users with varying "Capital" exert different influences on "Spatial Practices." They select "Decorated Shed Architecture," along with clothing and postures, for their photographs, resulting in diverse outcomes.Hence, for any space to gain popularity for photography or be deemed Instagrammable, these three components are essential, and the absence of any one component is crucial, as they mutually influence each other.2566-07-12T00:00:00Z
